The Herbst Device by Respire Medical is FDA Cleared and Now Medicare PDAC Approved
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 17, 2013
The Herbst Device from Respire Medical is FDA Cleared, and now approved for Medicare. Respire Medical is one of the handful of dental labs in the country to attain such credentials for the Herbst oral sleep device. Dental Sleep Medicine education will be provided by Sleep Group Solutions for Respire clients looking to learn more about treating patients for snoring and sleep apnea, through Oral Appliance Therapy.
“We are happy to announce that Respire has received Medicare approval for our Respire Pink Series – Herbst sleep device,” says David Walton, co/founder of Respire Medical. “Having received FDA clearance earlier this year, the Medicare approval is an important step for Respire, and our clients.” PDAC Approval allows the Herbst Device to be used in the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea for Medicare patients. “Now Medicare patients have more options to treat their sleep apnea besides just the CPAP.”
Sleep Apnea is a serious health problem in the United States; signs and symptoms include loud and frequent snoring, including choking or gasping during sleep, sleepiness or fatigue during the day, and difficulty concentrating. Hypertension, high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes, and obesity are also shared risk factors found in Sleep Apnea sufferers. Dental Sleep Medicine education company Sleep Group Solutions teaches dentists how to screen and treat OSA, and couldn’t be in more support of Respire Medical’s recent Medicare approval. “Respire has been working hard at meeting the qualifications for this approval. Now, more patients have access to treatment,” says Rani Ben-David, President of Sleep Group Solutions. “We look forward to teaching their existing clients, and future clients, more about implementing a proper Sleep Protocol.”
Respire Medical currently fabricates two oral sleep devices, The Respire Blue Series (dorsal fin), and the Respire Pink Series (Herbst device). For more information on Respire Medical, or the Herbst PDAC Approval, please contact David Walton, at 718-64Dream.
