David Gergen And Pro Player Health Alliance Team Close Another Successful Year In Tackling Sleep Apnea
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) December 31, 2014
In a response to noticing overwhelming numbers of former NFL players needing to be treated for sleep apnea, David Gergen, President of Pro Player Health Alliance (PPHA), set out to raise awareness of the sleeping disorder and create a network of doctors and players who would come together to battle against it. What began as NFL greats Roy Green, Derek Kennard, Mike Haynes and Mr. Gergen doing what they could for other players, is now a full team “Tackling Sleep Apnea” across the country including: The Living Heart Foundation HOPE Program sponsored by the NFLPA, American Sleep and Breathing Academy Dental Division and RemZzzs CPAP Mask Liners.
In addition, Eric Dickerson, Carl Eller, Larry Fitzgerald Jr., Warren Moon, Marcus Allen, Dave Krieg, Nesby Glasgow, OJ Anderson, Bart Oats, Carl Eller, Lincoln Kennedy, Ed “Too Tall” Jones, Isiah Robertson, Chuck Foreman, Nick Lowery, Preston Pearson and Mark Walczak, have all also teamed up with PPHA. Together they have appeared on countless television shows, news stories and radio pieces all over the country including a recent showing on PBS, reaching out to over an estimated hundred thousand individuals.
While the awareness campaigns have proven to be successful in reaching out to sleep apnea sufferers, they have also shown to increase patient flow for doctors who are in the Pro Player Health Alliance network. Gergen continues to be involved in the dental sleep community as the Executive Director of the American Sleep and Breathing Academy Dental Division as well, offering education to those dentists in the PPHA network that serves as an essential part to a practitioner’s longevity in the field. Any dentists looking to join this network and possibly treat NFL greats from the NFLPA chapters near them can contact David Gergen at gxployer@aol.com.
